Toilet Training :

We will toilet train a child per a mutually agreed upon plan between the parents and the staff when the child shows signs of being ready. There will be no punishment involved with toilet training. We will sanitize all toilet training equipment before and after each use.

Feeding: When foods or formulas are prepared it will be in a sanitary manner in an area separate from the diapering area. We will sanitize bottles and nipples between uses. We will refrigerate a filled bottle if the child does not consume the contents immediately, and discard the bottles contents if the child does not consume it within 12 hours. We will work with the parents to find an acceptable feeding schedule. We will hold the children during feedings in a semi sitting position unless such is against medical advice. A child will also be allowed to sit in a high chair and hold their bottle. During feedings we will interact with the child and not prop the bottle. We will remove the bottle when he/she is finished. Hands will be washed before and after each feeding. Semi-solid foods will only be given upon consultation with the parent.

Playing and sleeping equipment: We will provide the children with daily opportunities to develop large and small muscles, to crawl and explore safely, to experience sensory stimulation and to socially interact. We will help the child develop communication and self-help skills. We will provide safe, non-ingestible toys and equipment suitable for mental and physical development. Your young child will be sleeping in a playpen or crib, which will be checked for safety and sanitized before and after each use, until such time it is mutually agreed the child can safely use a bed or sleeping mat.
