Nutrition: Meals and Snacks Meals and snacks will be served according to the USDA Food Program regulations. If your child has allergies, it should be noted on your program form. If your child should require a specific diet, the food must be labeled with the child's name and dated, and pre-approved by the childcare facility. These foods will be stored in a separate container, either in the refrigerator or in a kitchen cupboard. Unfamiliar or less popular foods are served in smaller portions. Children do not have to finish all of the food served, but seconds will be offered only after what was initially served has been eaten. In keeping with health standards, hot foods shall be kept hot, and cold foods cold. Example of a Typical Days Meals Breakfast: Pancakes, applesauce, milk AM Snack: Graham crackers, 100% juice Lunch: Fish sticks, toast, corn, tater tots, milk PM Snack: Apple slices, cheese, juice
